my neighborhood is melting

As I was taking a walk this afternoon in my formerly blizzard-torn, ice-covered, melting neighborhood, I noticed that as the snow is now melting (yipppeee) there are some strange objects left behind.

1) Lots of dog poo in various stages of defrost (does 6 week old dog poo count as some kind of fossil?)
2) Several cigarette butts
3) The board part of a skateboard in our front lawn...I seem to remember that being there back before Christmas!
4) More dog poo (What can I say? i moved from one dog city (Budapest) to another (Boulder) and even though there are a ton of laws about picking up poop, Boulderites lose at least 30 IQ points during snowstorms...snow seems to be a good excuse for a lot of seriously messed up behavior...but that's a tangent for another time.
5) A various sundry of wrappers and beer cans
6) Goose poop (I live near a small pond -- which they actually call a Lake here. Funny)
7) Lost car keys (?)
8) Snow shovels
9) A hat here, a mitten there..
and last but not least:
10) Real, honest to goodness blacktop. Yes, folks, that was not the road you have been driving on for the past 6 weeks...it was ice. On top of snow, on top of more ice that melted and froze and just became ice again. And this, though full of potholes and odd household trash and excrement, is the street we live on. Be proud.
